Flying Fox writing

"Bwhagh!" I screamed as Arron threw me off the plaform, I half expected to fall but I knew the harness would hold me up. I twisted and turned and occasionally flipped upside down. Then once I was unclipped I smiled at Mr B before dragging the rope back up the hill. By the time I got back in line my face was red from puffing. I recon that the flying fox was the 2nd awesomest activity on camp, bested only by the waterslide.

Moirs Point Camp Sandcastle Competition

Moirs Point Camp, the awesome place we went to for our Hurupaki Primary camp. In this photo we went down to the estuary to have a sandcastle competition, you know, the normal. My group had Bailey, Lauren (aka Loz), Katisha (aka Teesh), and I. We made a couch with a heart shaped pillow and for some reason we made a turtle lying there as well.

My Shoes

My Shoes
By Jayden Steward

Swinging on a bench, I'm having flashbacks at people laughing at my ridiculous shoes with holes in the front of them. Wondering how long people will notice and laugh at me. Moving away I walk over the bridge looking at the reflection in the water of my cut, ripped and shredded shoes. Walking along the path I see a kid with really nice clothes and shoes but he seems not to be moving? I sit down on the other side of the bench.I look down looking at my shoes he gives me a friendly wave. I sit down against a tree and start to talk to my shoes. I say "I wish i could be like him" 3 times then some how I'm in the place of the boys body but I'm disabled I can't move my legs. Then a lady comes and says sorry I'm late. I hear the other boy jumping and cheering as I'm wheeled away

Te Hokinga Mai o Hoiho performance

Tē Reō Show

Last term my school was lucky enough to be visited by the Ugly Shakespeare theatre. They performed a show always speaking in māori, translated by a lady named Crystal Lee.

The show was about a lively young girl named Mia and her friends, Hoiho and Wheke. The story began in the Arctic with the threesome cleaning the ice but Hoiho was feeling homesick and wanted to go back to Aotearoa to see his whanau. Mia decided they would go back to Aotearoa. Traveling through the ocean on a whale the friends were caught in a storm but that was only one of the hold ups they had. There were dancing gods and Judge Kumara to contend with as well! Overall it was an amazing show about Te Reō māori.
